Buddy the Elf crochet pattern
Buddy is a 9.5 inch elf in a moss green jacket with fuzzy white trim, gold pants and a pointed hat with a red feather. His hair is curly root beer brown.
The fuzzy trim uses a Teddy yarn alongside the cotton, and the pattern shows how to work the two together. It is 14 pages, for an intermediate crocheter. There is a smaller ornament version if you want him on the tree.

Yarn and hook
I crocheted Buddy the Elf in fingering weight cotton plus teddy trim with a 2.0 and 2.5 mm hook, which gives the 9.5 in / 24 cm elf doll in the photos. Any yarn weight works here: the pattern is the same, and a heavier yarn with a bigger hook simply gives you a bigger elf doll. Match the hook to whatever you already have in the cupboard.
