Rusty is a 6 inch amigurumi owl, round and sturdy, in copper, linen and taupe. He has big 16 mm safety eyes and scalloped wings that sit close against his body, and an optional cardboard base keeps him standing on a shelf.

Yarn and hook
I crocheted Rusty the Wood Owl in fingering and #2 weight cotton with a 2.5 mm hook, which gives the 6 in owl in the photos. Any yarn weight works here: the pattern is the same, and a heavier yarn with a bigger hook simply gives you a bigger owl. Match the hook to whatever you already have in the cupboard.
