Yarn and hook
I crocheted Niona the Witch and Bufo in fingering weight mercerized cotton with a 2.0 and 2.5 mm hook, which gives the 9.5 in / 24 cm doll, plus a 2 in toad witch doll in the photos. Any yarn weight works here: the pattern is the same, and a heavier yarn with a bigger hook simply gives you a bigger witch doll. Match the hook to whatever you already have in the cupboard.
