Yarn and hook
I crocheted Cute Bat in fingering and #2 weight cotton with a 2.5 mm hook, which gives the 2.5 in / 6.35 cm bat in the photos. Any yarn weight works here: the pattern is the same, and a heavier yarn with a bigger hook simply gives you a bigger bat. Match the hook to whatever you already have in the cupboard.
